On Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at 6:00 p.m.
Hollywood Central Elementary and PTA are hosting an “Academy for Parent Engagement” night in conjunction with the School Board of Broward County Parent Engagement Department. The purpose of the evening is to provide parents with effective reading strategies, information on the new Florida Standards, creating healthy meals on a budget, and money management tips. Volunteers from the district will be serving a variety of easy to make inexpensive crock-pot meals for all in attendance to sample. In addition, we will be offering door prizes of crock-pots and the non-perishable items to make one of the meals they will be sampling that night. We are asking for your support in this initiative. If you could donate a new unopened crock-pot and/or a $20.00 gift card to a grocery store (to purchase the ingredients for these meals), we would be most grateful as we attempt to service and educate our community. We are hoping to have drawings for at least 12 crock-pots and 12 bags of ingredients. |
